Maria and her friendship group met when their children all started at the same primary school and they soon found themselves spending lots of time together through school activities and events. From here, their friendship developed and they now meet regularly outside of school for girly evenings and activities. This summer, Maria planned a ‘girls night’ for the group to enjoy at her home, consisting of beauty treatments, spa activities, DIY cocktails, and great food from Hog Roast Ilmington. For the menu, we were hired to serve a classic hog roast as this seemed like the perfect comfort food to add to the evening.
In preparation for this event, the Hog Roast Ilmington team planned to arrive at Maria’s home in the afternoon to plan for the occasion. We set up our catering station and began to prepare the dishes, beginning by slow-roasting the hog to perfection. Once ready, the pork was carved into slices and served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. For the several meat-free guests, we provided BBQ pulled jackfruit, which is a delicious and smokey alternative to pulled pork. As well as the mains, the guests enjoyed homemade chips, gourmet coleslaw, and homemade chips, to create a varied and nutritious evening buffet. Our menu had plenty for every guest to enjoy and more than enough to go around, including enough for seconds! This event was great fun and turned into a great girly evening of relaxation and pampering.
