Last week, our Hog Roast Stow-on-the-wind team had the privilege of catering for Ciaran and Samantha’s rustic wedding in the picturesque Cotswolds—a region known for its natural beauty.
The couple’s chosen venue was a romantically rustic barn that accommodated their 175 guests with ease, and offered 20 on-site rooms for overnight stays. The main barn featured wooden beams adorned with soft string lights and elegant ceiling drapes, which created a magical ambiance for the evening celebrations. While the couple exchanged their vows in another part of the venue, Hog Roast Stow-on-the-wind was here, busily preparing an unforgettable spread.
Our catering manager, Rufus, crafted the Southern Slow Roast Menu, featuring BBQ pork butt, Cajun-spiced roast chicken, pulled minted lamb, and BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls. These mouthwatering dishes were accompanied by sides of mixed fries, Memphis-style coleslaw, and potato salad. For those seeking an extra kick of flavour, our Cajun Hot Pepper Sauce and legendary Hickory Bourbon BBQ Sauce were the perfect accompaniments.
At the couple’s request, we customised this menu by including a dessert selection; giving guests the chance to indulge in our homemade individual tarte au citron and profiteroles.
As speeches concluded, it was time for us to open this delicious buffet up to the guests. The newlyweds dined first, followed by their guests. Rufus and the Hog Roast Stow-on-the-wind team worked efficiently to ensure everyone was served promptly, allowing them to enjoy their meals together.
Guests not only raved about the delicious food but also marvelled at the rustic barn setting. After indulging in the sumptuous feast, they hit the dance floor and partied into the night, creating everlasting memories of Ciaran and Samantha’s wedding.
