It might seem like it was only a moment ago that the kids were getting hyped about the Christmas holidays, but believe it or not, the time has already come for another school hiatus – which, if you ask us, is always a brilliant excuse to have some good ol’ family fun!
Giving kids the chance to forget about schoolwork stresses, and those adults lucky enough to get time off work the opportunity to enjoy some much-needed family time, the highly-anticipated Easter break provides the perfect opportunity to spend time with loved ones. And what better bonding experience than a lip-smacking lunch?
Hog Roast Hailes’s Southern Slow Roast Menu is the ideal treat for the whole family – just ask Janice! She came to us before the schools broke up for Easter and asked if we would do the honours of serving this legendary menu to her loved ones. As always, we couldn’t wait to help out!
Arriving at the client’s home well ahead of the guests gave Hog Roast Hailes’s catering crew ample time to rustle up this Deep South-inspired spread of Texas 24-hour beef brisket, Cajun-spiced whole roast chickens, fall off the bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs and vegetarian-friendly grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs with sweet chilli sauce, flatbreads and tzatziki dip. Sides of mixed sweet potato fries, creamy mac and cheese and Memphis-style crunchy coleslaw were also included on the menu along with a trio of authentic BBQ-style sauces, which added to the depth of flavour.
Janice had picked a gorgeous day for it, so everyone was able to enjoy our tasty food outside in the fresh air, which is definitely a rarity in British springtime!
The guests were in high spirits as they tucked into Hog Roast Hailes’s mouth-watering buffet of flavour-packed meats and sumptuous side dishes, which offered something for every palate.
Finally, once everyone’s plates were clean, we brought out the pudding! Our homemade summer pudding and tarte au citron desserts, which were both light and refreshing, proved to be the perfect end to this wonderful family gathering, and everyone went home feeling satisfied!
