Hog Roast Chasteton Handled Catering At An Art Retreat!

Hog Roast ChastetonFeaturing rolling hills, picture-perfect meadows and serene streams, the Cotswolds exudes natural beauty at every turn, making it the perfect place to unwind and reignite your creative spark; and knowing this is what prompted Eve and Ryan to host an art retreat last weekend!

The event took place at the couple’s picturesque glamping site, which looks out onto a stunning landscape that is brimming with wildlife. Eager to reconnect with their creativity and indulge in the breath-taking beauty this little slice of heaven has to offer, 40 guests attended this peaceful event, where they spent each morning painting the sunrise with watercolours, followed by a crash course in pottery-making, nature sketches and using natural materials they had collected from the woodlands to personalise their own wind chimes.

Each afternoon ended with the group cosying up around a roaring campfire, singing folk songs and exchanging stories while Hog Roast Chasteton’s catering team treated them to a delightful feast. The client had asked that the menus be different each day, so on Saturday, we presented the group with our signature hog roast spread, comprising of pulled-pork rolls with applesauce, crackling and sage and onion stuffing, colourful side salads, regular and sweet potato fries and gourmet crunchy coleslaw with plenty more crunchy rolls and flatbreads to dig into. We also served grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs with tzatziki dip and sweet chilli sauce, which were perfect for the vegan and vegetarian guests.

Hog Roast ChastetonOn Sunday, which was the final day of the event, Hog Roast Chasteton wowed guests with a traditional BBQ spread, which boasted an exquisite selection of gorgeously grilled meats. These included our chef’s own gourmet sausages, succulent chicken kebabs, meaty marinated spareribs and handmade British beef burgers served on brioche buns with melting cheese, onions and fresh tomato slices. Again, salad options, mixed fries and coleslaw were on the menu along with BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls for the non-meat-eating attendees.

The food couldn’t have been better received, and everyone who attended Eve and Ryan’s special art retreat had great things to say about Hog Roast Chasteton’s cooking, which made their experience all the more memorable.
